There’s nothing better than sitting on a sandy beach watching the sun dip into the water. Even in the colder months, bundling up and watching a sunset never gets old. Every corner of our country has some beautiful sunset locations. Here are the top ten sunsets to see in America in your lifetime.

Provincetown, MA

Herring Cove Beach in Provincetown is one of the most popular places for a sunset. Catch one of Provincetown’s many sunset cruises to add to the experience. The view of the ocean filled with boats and the sun in the background is extraordinary.

Sedona, AZ

Against the red rock formations, a Sedona sunset makes the land look like fire. Try Airport Mesa and Bell Rock for a great viewing location. You can even view the sunset from a hot air balloon.

Santa Monica Pier, CA

A Ferris wheel ride at sunset sounds like the perfect romantic night. You can do that on Santa Monica Pier. Catch dinner at one of the pier’s many restaurants or spread out on the lawn of Pacific Park.

Dauphin Island, AL

It’s called the sunset capital of Alabama for a reason. Enjoy the views of the sun dipping into the “roll tide” of the Gulf Coast. West End Beach offers sunset concerts in the summer.

Mt. McKinley, AK

Anywhere in Alaska, you get the best, unspoiled sunsets. Denali National Park’s mountain views are no exception to that. The pink and purple colors will leave you breathless.

Key West, FL

Key West is so proud of their sunsets, they have a celebration every night in Mallory Square. The festival brings people from all over the world. You’ll enjoy the gorgeous views of palm trees against the orange and pink sky.

Santa Barbara, CA

Just like the U2 song, the blood-orange sunset will bring you to your knees. Locals and travelers love the view at the Santa Barbara Courthouse. Dolphins like to play in the waves at sunset at Butterfly Beach, a popular spot for tourists.

Seattle, WA

The buildings of the Seattle skyline glow during a pink sunset. The space needle is a popular spot for tourists to catch a sunset. For a beach scene, check out Alki Beach Park.

Mount Haleakala, HI

You can’t get a better sunset than 10,000 feet up. You can drive up the mountain and enjoy the scenic Hawaii views before your sunset. The sunset on top of this volcano looks like lava itself.

Grand Canyon, AZ

Arizona sunsets made it twice on this list because they’re really that spectacular. Looking out at the sheer magnitude of the Grand Canyon, with a sunset beaming off the red rock, will make your jaw drop. Hopi Point and Yaki at the South Rim are popular spots for this gorgeous sunset.

If you’re taking a vacation to any of these destinations, make sure to catch their famous sunsets. Lay out a blanket on the beach, or hike up to the tallest mountain. Wherever you are, you’re guaranteed a spectacular view.
