The eco-friendly trend has entered pretty much every other industry so why not vineyards and distilleries? Companies are trying more and more to be conscious of the effect their work is having on the environment. It is an important task that each and every one of us should take seriously. Many people believe that environmental impact is only for the big corporations to worry about because they have the biggest impact. The truth is that every impact is a big impact so taking the smallest care when dealing with things like conservation and waste production can really make a difference.

All sorts of companies are making sure the world knows about how they are saving the planet and becoming more eco-friendly. So how are vineyards and wineries making a difference? There are many things that vineyards and wineries have been doing to reduce their impact. Some of the more common things they are doing include using solar power, using recycled materials, and using organic farming materials. The Napa Valley Vintners, a nonprofit company, created the Napa Green Land or Winery program last year to encourage wineries and vineyards in the Napa Valley to become more eco-friendly. Here is a list of napa_green_signsthe “greenest” wineries in the Napa Valley according to the program’s standards:

  1. CADE Estate Winery
  2. Chateau Montelena Winery
  3. Raymond Vineyard and Cellar
  4. Domaine Carneros
  5. The Hess Collection

These are only the top wineries and the list is still growing. More and more vineyards are joining the Napa Green Land or Winery program and becoming more eco-friendly by changing their methods. If you would like to visit these wineries and experience their methods in becoming environmentally friendly, then visit the Napa Valley and stay at Wine Country Inn. You can enjoy a beautiful, relaxing, and romantic vacation while partaking in wine tastings at these eco-friendly wineries.
